World Smart City Award 2019: Rheticus awarded with Hera Group use case

A new reward for Rheticus, the satellite-based monitoring service developed by Planetek (https://www.planetek.it ), which was awarded the Urban Environment Award at World Smart City Congress 2019 in Barcelona (http://www.smartcityexpo.com/) . The Hera Group use case “Connecting satellite and operational data to trigger predictive maintenance for utilities” was submitted by our partners of Hexagon Geospatial and was selected among 450 projects from 54 countries. Hera Group integrated Rheticus® Network Alert services to implement predictive analysis in the monitoring of water and sewage networks, supporting maintenance activities of Bologna-based Multi-Utility company, in order to identify possible problem areas. The integration of the Rheticus® Network Alert satellite-based monitoring service improved the effectiveness of inspections by 40% and consequently increased the capacity of predicting potential big problems and interruptions of the service, greatly reducing the utility’s costs of maintaining its sewer systems.
