It's no secret that I love Green Day, and this is one of my favourite songs of theirs. I've heard early demo versions of this song from the 'Dookie' sessions, but it wasn't properly recorded and released until a year later in 1995 on the ‘Angus’ soundtrack. J.A.R. was written by Mike Dirnt about a childhood friend who passed away at an early age. Beautiful lyrics combined with an unforgettable bass line.
