In our youth, facial features are defined and well contoured. Typical features of a youthful face are high cheekbones, full cheeks, and a defined jawline. These features are referred to as “the triangle of youth”. As we age, the triangle becomes inverted. Our facial bones change, facial muscles get weak and sag due to gravity, and since our facial skin is connect to our facial muscles directly, our skin also sags and droops downward. Not only that, but facial fat pads also shift. As we get older, fat pads beneath the chin will increase and become more visible causing fullness between the neck and chin. This is what we called “double chin”. Facial aging causes our face to look longer as we get older, cheekbones appear lower, cheeks become flatter, fat pad under the chin increase in prominence. This effect of the lower face getting fuller is known as “the pyramid of age”. In this video, I will show you three poses to help you restore the triangle of youth.
